After a few years hiatus from blogging, I decided it was time to make a comeback. So much has happened during my time away. The world has changed. Most days, I wonder what role I’m supposed to play in building a world I want future generations to inherit. Other days, I’m fighting the temptation to let it all burn.

My life passions are writing, reading, spending time with friends and family, eating amazing food, mentoring the next generation of world changers, gleaning from the past generation of world changers, connecting with nature, serving people, geeking out over superheroes and tech, attending cons, and generally being a super dope melanated woman.
I’ve lived in Seattle for a little over a decade now, and I’ve made it my home away from home. I live for the snow-capped mountains, year-round lush green forests, calming seas, and abundance of outdoor spaces. Seattle is like a little paradise for me. The only thing missing is the sun, hence the name of this website, Sunless in Seattle.
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., the only place on earth you’ll find actual barbecue. I rep the Show Me State all day, everyday. The midwest is very different than the pacific northwest, but both have played a major role in shaping who I am today.
